Cannabis helped me come to the acceptance that I needed help.
When I was 14, I started running because I wanted to lose weight, but my intention to cut pounds was destructive.
Fueling my workouts with nit-picking self-criticism worsened my depression, eating disorder and fed my addiction to exercise.
It was a loop played again & again... "I ate all that? I feel disgusting."
Time to make myself sick, take a nap (cause I was so ashamed), then go cycling (workout) to build myself back up.
Every day for years, I battled bulimia, depression, and addiction to working out.
Until I tried cannabis for the first time, and it flipped some switches that made me start to see the harm I was inducing on myself & my health.
I got so paranoid that I passed out, and when I woke (still high), I finally came out about my bulimia to my mom.
Cannabis helped me come to the acceptance that I needed help.
From there on, my relationship with mary jane has been so contradictory to what "healthy" is "supposed to be."
I'm not saying you need to use cannabis to get out of a funk, appreciate things, or be a healthy person. But for some ppl, like me, I needed that homeostasis cannabis offers.
It unstuck, flipped on, and grew a new, healthy mental perception of myself.
& when I started combining cannabis with teaching group fitness classes, personal training, and my solo workouts, the basics of my fundamental morals, values, and self-worth were re-built.
So now, this is the space I hold for others by assisting them in strengthening their bodies; they naturally guide their minds to brighter days too!
